| My long thick hair naturally dries into massive frizzy untamed curly ringlets, so I have three choices to style it. Pantene leave in overnight conditioner packets (which are now discontinued) worked in wet somehow styles my mop of hair into this gorgeous polished Dyan Cannon style. A flatiron to make waves from curls (twist 2" of hair into a curl between your fingers and then flat iron each for 8 seconds. Or I use this Chi curling iron to quickly straighten my hair (even without blowdrying, which I hate to do anyway). I only use this brand, and I'm ready for my third because I wear them out with years of use. I've tried others professional curling iron but this one is stronger, gets hotter, and it seems to lock when you grab the hair so it doesnt slip out. I've taken this one with me all over the world. It's the closest thing I have in my posession to creating the look of a salon blowout. If you're anything like me, and it's almost impossible for you to recreate that movie-star look at home with a blow dryer, then this tool is an absolute must have. |

| I am by no means a hairstyling guru, but this large curling iron is easy and comfortable to use. It is quite large in size, complete with a comfort grip handle, so I don't expect those who travel lightly like I do to be packing it along for excursions. The temperature control is a definite asset, and ranges from 200-400 F. I typically set my iron to 400 F, a temperature reached in about two to three minutes - no complaints! The tool maintains its heat evenly so that curls are uniform. I haven't encountered any problems with heat damage to my hair, either, although I do not curl my hair more than twice weekly. The one problem I do face when using this CHI curling iron is that the results do not last terribly long -- usually not more than six to eight hours (and consequently not overnight). |

| I have thick, moderately straight hair that falls a few inches below the shoulder. This iron may in fact be better for someone with longer hair. If I were to complete this transaction over again, I would have bought the 1" iron because the large diameter of the 1 1/2" curling iron does not create many ringlets due to the fact that my hair is not very long (i.e. at or below my shoulder blades). I would certainly recommend this product to others, however, because of its ease, heat retention, and (I hope) durability.
